RealGuard Launches Face Mask proven to kill COVID-19

Wednesday, July 29, 2020 (Halifax, NS) On July 31, wearing a mask in indoor public spaces becomes mandatory in Nova Scotia and Dartmouth-based RealGuard Canada stands ready as a provider of an innovative mask that is proven to kill 99.99% of coronaviruses, including COVID-19.

The masks use patented technology, developed by Swiss company Livinguard, to neutralize bacteria and viruses on textiles, and they are also environmentally friendly.

The unique fabric used in RealGuard surgical-grade masks is embedded with 24 billion positive charges per square centimetre that effectively attract, trap and destroy SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, as well as other viruses and bacteria.

These antimicrobial masks can be washed and reused for up to six months and do not contain leachable metals or chemicals that can be harmful to users and the environment. RealGuard face masks can therefore replace over 200 single-use masks and keep individuals safe when physical distancing isn’t possible.

“RealGuard Canada is as much about protecting our planet as it is about protecting health,” says Peter Steele, Executive Chairman of RealGuard Canada. “Our innovative technology is designed to deliver a washable and reusable protection so that businesses and families alike can safely and sustainably resume their daily routines.”

The masks are CE certified in Europe imported into Canada through a Health Canada Medical Device Establishment License. For a product to be CE certified, it must conform with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area. RealGuard masks are available in two sizes, medium and large, and can be purchased with or without a valve.
