5 Creative Ways to Stay Connected with Staff While Working Remotely

Posted by Katherine Allan on

Staying connected during times of uncertainty is a great way to ease the minds of your employees while also maintaining the culture of your company.

Productivity is important but in times like these it is equally important to show your employees that you are there to support them and care about their mental health and well being

Here are a few creative ways to stay connected with your staff while working remotely:

1. Take Time to Socialize

On a Friday afternoon schedule a virtual game of BINGO. If you’re a smaller office you can print out the cards and drop them off.

If you have a large staff or your staff are in different locations ask them to join virtually on www.bingomaker.com

To make the experience interactive have everyone get on zoom or google hangouts with one person calling the numbers.

This is a great way to set a positive tone for their weekend and to lift everyone’s spirits! For added fun put prizes on the line such as a $20 gift card to somewhere of their choice.

2. Contactless Delivery of “Thinking About You” Cards

This is one of our favourite ways we’ve seen to show your employees you’re thinking about them.  A small gesture to say we hope you are safe and we are here for you.

 3. Gift them New Work From Home Gear

Working from home can be difficult but it has some benefits too - like wearing sweatpants on your morning zoom meeting.

A great way to show your staff that you hope they’re staying safe and comfy during these difficult times is with branded sweaters and sweatpants

4. Feed them!

Treat your employees with a box of comfort food. Not only will they feel appreciated but they’ll be likely to share the delivery on social media which gives your brand/company some positive spotlight! Box of Chocolates with Logo

We provide chocolates and other treats in customized boxes with your logo on them.

Lots of local companies around town are also offering food delivery.  This is a great way to support the local food industry and your employees. One example we saw was Manna Bakery offering “Isolation Kits” that include two loaves of bread, three types of deli meats and cheese, 6 baked goods, 6 cookies and coffee” (plus delivery is included!).

5. Help them Stay Healthy and Happy

Now more than ever it’s important to stay healthy both mentally and physically.  Show your employees you care about their wellbeing by promoting daily physical activity.

Sport Bottle with Flip Lid

A water bottle to use while walking or exercising is a great idea.  Insulated water bottles that can double as coffee mugs are always a hit as well!

These are uncertain times for all and supporting your co-workers and employees is of utmost importance - even just a phone call or text to see how they are doing can make all the difference.

We want all our customers to know that we are here for you and are willing to help in any way possible - please feel free to reach out to us by email or phone cabot@cabotbusiness.ca or 709-726-9870.

We hope everyone is staying safe and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
